Alexander Campbell in the Old Country
(The Historic Four-Month Journey in 1847)
After sailing to America in 1809, Alexander Campbell returned to the “Old Country” on just one occasion in 1847. There were many high points on his journey like preaching to audiences of more than 2,000 and meeting many British church leaders. There was also one surprising low point when Campbell was put in prison in Glasgow, Scotland.

Garfield & Gano: Brothers in Christ
(A Dual Biography of Two Civil War Generals)
James A. Garfield from Ohio and Richard Montgomery Gano from Kentucky fought on different sides in the Civil War. However, these devout Christian men, who were only a year apart in age, had much in common including their profound admiration for Alexander Campbell and their love of Bethany College.
