The U.S. House of Representatives has passed a landmark tobacco regulation bill, which has been endorsed by more than 680 public health, medical, faith and other organizations, including the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). The bill, H.R. 1108, would give the Food and Drug Administration significantly enhanced authority over the manufacturing, marketing and sale of tobacco products. The legislation now goes to the Senate, where it has at least 57 co-sponsors.
