Woodruff takes larger role with HELM

Higher Education and Leadership Ministries (HELM) welcomed Rev. Hollie Woodruff as director of HELM undergraduate student programs August 1. As director of undergraduate programs, Woodruff will resource the HELM Leadership Fellows and develop a revised program for the 2012-2013 academic year.

“We are thrilled that Hollie is willing to expand her work with our ministry,” said Dennis Landon, President of HELM. “She will be at the center of our work to nurture and support the young leaders who will revitalize Christian community and witness in the next generation.”

Woodruff will continue to work with HELM’s Student Ecumenical Partnership and in particular with the planning for Share 2014, the next national gathering of Disciples and UCC students.

“I think this generation will challenge and question the current systems, and will be bold and brave enough to move the church forward,” said Woodruff, a chaplain at Barton College. “I love seeing students discover this about themselves and grow into solid leaders. The most exciting part of my ministry is watching students be transformed over their four years.”

Higher Education and Leadership Ministries is a general ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) that nurtures the next generation of leaders through relationships with students, educational institutions and the whole church.
