The Northeastern Region of the Christian Church will install Rev. Mary Anne Glover as regional minister on Sept. 15. Glover has served as transitional regional minister since 2008 and was unanimously elected to be permanent regional minister last December.
The new regional minister says the region is in "re-formation", a new region start. This region has been on a journey of transition for 25 years and is now positioned to release the past to step into a new reality doing mission and ministry together.
An ordained minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Glover has served in congregations in Indianapolis, Minneapolis, and Louisville, Ky. She was also associate regional pastor in Ohio. Glover holds a B. S. degree from East Carolina University, an M.Div. from Lexington Theological Seminary, and she was the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) representative to the Ecumenical Institute Bossey in 1991. She has been vice president of the Black Ministers Fellowship, Common Global Ministries Board, and Church Women Staff Fellowship. She has been a member of the Council on Christian Unity, and Disciples representative on the United Church of Christ Executive Council, Church Women United National Board, and co-chaired the Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches Beyond Racism Together Committee.
