As the Packers and Steelers prepare to battle it out for the NFL championship on Feb. 6, Super Bowl Sunday, tens of thousands of people will be taking on another opponent in the meantime – hunger. Disciples will once again participate in the "Souper Bowl of Caring" in the weeks leading up to and on the Sunday of the Super Bowl football game to fight hunger and poverty in their local communities.
In 2010, more than 260,000 young people across America collected more than $10 million in dollars and food for local hunger-relief charities. Of the contributions that are received this year, 100 percent will go to charity. The goal is $11 million. To find out how to get involved or learn more, visit: www.souperbowl.org
