The closing litany from the virtual worship
Leader: For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
All: nor inconvenient truth, nor postponed events, nor vulnerability, nor pandemic, nor lingering grudges, nor shrinking loves, nor the blessed space between us,
Leader: nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
All: God of limitless love, today we, theChristian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada, joined together in fellowship, discipleship, and worship. Thank you for opportunities to share the gift of ministry and service to all people, and to reflect on the light of scripture as a gathered community.
Send us forth with joy to share your table with holy boldness and everlasting power that extends beyond the perils of the moment.
Leader: God of the present season, as we continue to gather and worship in digital space, may the technology of the holy spirit unmute our voices and our faith, unmute our ministries, and our capacities for love and justice.
All: Unmute the work of your spirit among us, and freshly activate the tools we’ve gained and sharpened today in the service of the voiceless, the least of these, and the most faithful uses of your gifts.
As we build on the work you have begun for the sake of wholeness in our communities, give us confidence to trust that nothing will separate us from the love of God.
Leader: Ready us and bless us to continue to grow in covenant relation as courageous disciples that faithfully demonstrate together that nothing will separate us from the love of God.
All: God of limitless love, as we acknowledge your love alive across the life of the whole church, embolden our commitment to imagining a new world, and to becoming the church we must be in it to complete the work you have given us as disciples of Jesus, our Servant Lord. Amen.
