The “Faith Leader Training, Advocacy, and Rally” for Immigrant Justice in Washington, D.C. is April 9-10. Together with faith partners, Disciples have identified key states for the House and Senate that are particularly critical for passing immigration reform this year. These include: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.
Residents of these states are especially invited to join others from around the country for a 9 am-9 pm training on April 9. Partial scholarships are available, and food and housing costs are covered. See flyer for registration information, but also contact the Disciples Refugee and Immigration Ministries office to let us know you are coming. Do plan to remain in DC on April 10 to join in legislative visits and a rally for compassionate immigration reform with thousands. For additional information, contact Refugee & Immigration Ministries Director Rev. Dr. Sharon Stanley, at [email protected], or 202-957-7826.
