Disciples clergy, congregational leaders and treatment providers are invited to take part in a training session on how drug and alcohol abuse impacts individuals and families. The daylong conference that will involve some members of Middletown Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will take place March 24 at Christ United Methodist Church in Louisville, Ky. It is titled "Understanding the Impact of Addiction and Supporting Recovery: Strategies and Tools for Clergy, Congregational Leaders and Treatment Providers."
Participants will receive and discuss the latest information, resources and strategies on how to educate and provide hope to individuals and families suffering from the impact of alcohol and substance abuse and addiction. They will also review core competencies to help church leaders and treatment providers understand and address alcohol and drug abuse. Read more information, including registration material.
