They know you’re out there. Disciples are feeding children, collecting clothes, working to improve lives of women, calling for fairness in laws and policies and even recycling and retrofitting to conserve the earth’s resources. The stories trickle in, but members of the Justice Table are looking for a steady stream.
The Justice Table, made up of ministry heads who are committed to collaborating on bringing about God’s reign, met recently and realized there are hundreds of stories of churches making for a more just and fair society, but we don’t always get the word. Task groups around hunger/poverty, women/children, immigration and care of creation are looking for the stories that illustrate the Church’s commitment to justice. Whether your church is promoting local sourcing of food or educating new mothers, easing the way of new immigrants or hosting a safe after-school environment for kids, the Justice Table wants to add your story to the collection.
Some stories may be used for future Disciples News Service editions, so submit your short descriptions along with the name of the congregation, city/state, a contact person/information and up to three photos (JPG) to [email protected]
