Disciples are among those who have sent letters to each U.S. Senator urging elected officials to take steps this year to address the global climate crisis. As a faith community, Disciples believe God calls us to be stewards of his creation. The letter stresses that Disciples have worked with a variety of ecumenical and interfaith partners for more than four decades to ensure that any U.S. or global response to climate change protects both creation and God’s children.
A number of General Assembly resolutions have advocated for action to address climate change issues, that often disproportionately affect those living in poverty both in the United States and abroad.
