Canada’s Lay Leader seminar with Rev. Darlene Brewer

Our Canadian landscape is a beautiful place of continual change and transition, from season to season, & from coast to coast. We have seen big moments of upheaval & change in our society. Social justice is our commitment to love God & one another. Spirituality is a way of speaking & imagining the Spirit along our faith journeys. Imagine the Holy Spirit as a wild bird, God crying & laughing with us as a Grandmother, or the wilderness of the vast prairie as a metaphor for our lives. How can we imagine/reimagine God, ourselves, & the earth in a relationship of justice? Feminist/theologies teach us a language of the “Spirit” for our times. Micah 6:8 asks, “What does the Lord require of you?” Come & be part of an exploration of this question from a feminist perspective on spirituality. How might we define a spirituality of social justice for today? Everyone is welcome!
