A good kind of wall to build

The General Assembly Youth and Disciples Volunteering have paired up to sponsor an All-Assembly food drive and prayer wall.  Help to meet our Assembly goal of 7500 non-perishable food items to celebrate Christian Youth Fellowship’s 75th Anniversary!  The food items will be constructed into a prayer wall in the Convention Center, as we also engage a spiritual practice around our theme, “Lord, Teach Us to Pray.”

One in Five Central Floridians are struggling with the reality of hunger and food insecurity.  We share some of God’s abundance through our donations to the Second Harvest Food Bank.

Suggestions:

·         Grains — boxed pasta, boxed crackers, ready-to-eat cereal, oatmeal

·         Canned foods — especially fruit, vegetables, beans, meat/poultry, meals such as beef stew/soup/chili

·         Other — peanut butter

If you aren’t able to come to General Assembly, build your own food wall and take a picture! Not attending General Assembly but still want to participate? Organize your youth group (and church) to build your own local prayer wall, take a picture before July 13 and post to Facebook, tagging the General Assembly 2013 Youth group with the phrase: “(insert church name, city and state) is praying!”
