Preparations are being made to stream live video of worship at the 2011 General Assembly on July 9-13 in Nashville, Tenn. Disciples from around the globe will be able to “virtually” participate in all worship services, the “Sing It!” concert, the State of the Church message presented by General Minister and President Sharon Watkins, and the “Tell It” testimonies hosted by Disciples preacher Fred Craddock.
Streaming video will be available 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of each event, with the exception of the State of the Church. Anyone can watch live video from the Assembly at www.disciples.org/ga or on the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Facebook page at www.facebook.com/christianchurchdoc. Video of each event will be available on demand from the General Assembly web site until July 20, 2011. Streamed events from the Assembly will include:
- Opening Worship on Sat., July 9, at 7:30pm (video begins at 7:00pm);
- HIV/AIDS Healing Service on Sun., July 10, at 8:30am (video begins at 8:00am);
- State of the Church on Sun., July 10, at 2:30pm (video begins at 2:20pm);
- “Sing It!” Concert on Sun., July 10, at 7:00pm (video begins at 6:30pm);
- Emergent Worship on Mon., July 11, at 7:30pm (video begins at 7:00pm);
- “Tell It!” Testimonies on Tues., July 12, at 7:30pm (video begins at 7:00pm);
- Commissioning Worship on Wed., July 13, at 7:30pm (video begins at 7:00pm).
