For those seeking to learn more about Disciples’ rich history, a special tour in July may be of interest. The Disciples’ Heritage Tour will leave from Nashville, Tenn., immediately following the conclusion of the 2011 General Assembly, which will occur in Nashville. The tour will take in Disciples’ historic sites and attractions across three states – Tennessee, Kentucky and Pennsylvania and will run from July 13-20, ending in Pittsburgh, Pa.
David Matson, professor of biblical studies at Hope International University and a noted scholar of the Campbell-Stone Movement, will serve as tour guide. The group will visit such historic sites as Lexington Theological Seminary, Transylvania University, the Cane Ridge Meeting House, and Bethany College.
