INDIANAPOLIS – As plans commence for the 2011 General Assembly of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Nashville, Disciples are invited to participate in the "Tell it!" Essay Invitational.
Respondents may contribute up to 450 words in response to the question: "Where do you see God at work among Disciples, moving for wholeness in a fragmented world?"
The invitational is open to ALL ages, according to Patricia Case, Director of Program and Marketing of the General Assembly.
"Tell it!" is the Assembly theme, based on Deuteronomy 6:1-12, which is part of Moses’ last sermon to the Hebrew people before they cross into the Holy Land.
Posts to the web log will be selected from among volunteer contributions, and are subject to editing for length and clarity. They will be posted between now and July 9, 2011, at www.disciplesdotell.org, the web log for the General Assembly. Writers will not be paid, but will retain copyright for their work. In submitting contributions, writers also agree to unlimited use of the work by the General Assembly of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Send submissions to [email protected], with "WHOLENESS ESSAY" in the subject line. Include name, age, congregation name and address, home address, daytime phone and e-mail contact information. Accompanying photos are also encouraged. Submitters are responsible for obtaining permission from subjects in the photos.
