Legacy – just one word, but full of images and ideas! Can such a large word become real for small assembly attendees who carry home the many give away’s associated with a General Assembly? Well at Booth 105, Legacy is the word of the day. Coloring a bag to take home was helping little ones talk about what Legacy means and just what ministry means as it relates to building a Legacy. Big stuff – but not really when you involve kids, crayons, conversation, sprinkled with laughter. Young and old took part in this event and learned that Legacy means “today’s actions remembered in the future – what we do today paves the way for tomorrow.” Kids were encouraged to talk with their ministers and find out what ministry is. What do they do every day? What do they like about ministry and what is really hard? Maybe there is a part of their day they could share so they can find out what ministry is really like. Is this a Legacy?
So, if we celebrate ministry now, others might do that in the future. That celebration is called the Week of the Ministry. The story about what your minister does help others know that ministry is important. Tell it . . . it’s a Legacy!
Hey, it’s not too late to join in the fun again today (June 10th) any time between 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Pension Fund Booth #105. Let’s talk about what Legacy means. We’ll supply the crayons!
