A program of stories, music, art and play will be available for children ages three months to five years on July 11, 12, and 13. Care and instruction will be provided by trained professional staff and certified volunteers. Veteran preschool teachers Tabitha Bass, Catherine Clinton and Cindy Krawiec will lead this program. They will be assisted by a staff experienced in the care and instruction of preschool children.
The preschool programs will “Tell It” through interaction with Bible stories. Children will interpret and experience the stories using art, music and drama. Play and rest time will be included as well. All activities and selected materials are designed to be both age appropriate and engaging. Areas for structured physical activity and play also are being included in the program design. Children will leave each day with their own product of their experience. One of the highlights of each day will be a visit from a Music City artist.
All children will be secured by a wrist band system that matches each child with their class and their parent. An emergency management plan will govern their care if needed. All staff and volunteers will wear a t-shirt unique to the program for easy identification as well as security.
Lunch and snacks will be provided except for young children not yet taking solid foods. A detailed schedule and a list of what to bring will be sent to parents of all registered children after June 1.
You may access information about this program at the General Assembly website, www.disciples.org/ga by clicking on the preschool children’s program under “Learning Opportunities.” This site will also link you to the “preschool information form.” This form allows you to give us information about your child and it must be completed for every child who will be attending the preschool children’s program.
