Cyrus N. (Russ) White, outgoing president and publisher of Chalice Press (Christian Board of Publication), was presented the 2011 Faithful Servant Award at the General Assembly in Nashville. The award is given annually by the Disciples of Christ Historical Society on behalf of the whole church to honor servant-leaders who have given an extra measure of service. White announced his intent to step away from CBP in Oct. 2011 after more than 14 years as Christian Board of Publication president and publisher.
White is noted for bringing new life to Chalice Press during his tenure. Among other ventures, White will join GraceNet Inc., a non-profit corporation that provides research, coaching, and consulting in the effective spiritual leadership of revitalizing congregations, as chair of the board and chief executive officer. The 2010 Faithful Servant award went to Rev. William Lee, former moderator of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). For more information, see www.discipleshistory.org
