General Ministries offer Disciples Seminarians Conference

All Disciples of Christ ministerial students who have completed at least one year of master of divinity study are invited to the Disciples Seminarians Conference, March 14-17, 2013, at the Scarritt-Bennett Center in Nashville, Tenn. The conference is sponsored by the General Ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and coordinated by Higher Education and Leadership Ministries (HELM).

The conference begins with dinner on Thursday, March 14 and ends after lunch on Sunday, March 17. The Seminarians Conference provides opportunities for fellowship, worship and networking with ministerial students from across the U.S. and Canada, as well the chance to meet church leaders, including General Minister and President Sharon Watkins, and learn about the work of the general ministries. The conference also includes workshops on the Search and Call process, personal financial management and planning, and beginning a new pastorate.

Registration for students is $99 until February 10, 2013 and after February 10 it is $125.  (You will need a credit card to register.  If this is a difficulty, contact dlandon@helmdisciples.org.) Registration includes lodging, meals (except for dinner Friday evening) and ground transportation in Nashville.  The General Ministries subsidize most of the cost of the event.  The conference also provides substantial travel assistance to student participants. Participants will receive information on travel support after registration.

Students should register as soon possible, especially if they attend a non-Disciples theological institution and expect to apply for travel assistance. Contact Dennis Landon, president of HELM, at dlandon@helmdisciples.org or 314-991-3000 for any other information.
