Chapman University recently realized two significant achievements. The university, which is related by covenant with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), also became affiliated with the United Church of Christ Council for Higher Education on Oct. 29. "We are enriched as denominations because of our special partnership relationship," said Nancy Brink, the university director of Church Relations at Chapman. "We work to create a community of students who not only remain church connected, but leave Chapman ready to be transformational leaders in congregations." Additionally, Chapman University professor of theoretical physics Yakir Aharonov has received the 2010 National Medal of Science, the nation’s highest scientific honor. It was given for Aharonov’s "contributions to the foundations of quantum physics and for drawing out unexpected implications of that field." President Barack Obama will present the award to Aharonov at an upcoming White House ceremony. To learn more, go to: www.chapman.edu/aharonov/nationalscienceaward
