Christian Theological Seminary is accelerating its process to find a replacement for current president Edward L. Wheeler, who retires in June of 2012. The CTS Board of Trustees has appointed a transition committee that will work with CTS faculty to determine the qualities needed and desired in a new president. It is hoped that a new president will begin service in July 2011. Wheeler, whose three terms makes him the longest serving president in the institution’s history, will become president emeritus of CTS beginning July 1, 2011.
"The plan also allows me the opportunity to be of service to the new president without worrying about when to take my earned sabbatical and how that will affect the day to day operations of the seminary," remarked Wheeler in a meeting with CTS faculty, students and staff on March 15.
