Are mainline churches experiencing a "ghettoization" of youth within the church? What can congregations do to better engage their youth, who are sometimes segregated to a particular room, where they engage in ministry in isolation from the rest of the church? A conference entitled "Rethinking Youth Ministry," will take place Oct. 29-30 in Jefferson City, Mo. The gathering is sponsored by the Missouri School of Religion.
Rethinking Youth Ministry will provide participants a platform for critiquing the older congregational paradigm and rethinking many of the deepest assumptions of youth ministry in the mainline church.
