The Phillips University Legacy Foundation has announced that it has met its $1 million Tradition Project goal. The money will be used for the Phillips Gallery in the Oklahoma Historical Society’s new Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center in Enid, Okla. A number of gifts that came at the end of 2009 helped match a $500,000 challenge grant from Phillips alumna Thelma Jean Gungoll to achieve the $1 million goal.
"Phillips is pleased to be a part of such an important civic project and we are grateful that our own history and archives will be preserved for generations to come," said Jim Wright, foundation president. To learn more, visit www.pulf.org or call 580-237-4433.
