Disciples Peace Fellowship is now accepting applications for its Summer Peace Internship program. Young adults who are 21 or older no later than June 1, 2010 are invited to apply on line.
Peace Interns receive extensive training in peace education, current political and cultural conflicts, and theological study of Christian approaches to peace and justice. After completing their training, they then travel across the country to church camps and conferences, serving as peace educators and justice advocates.
Now in its 35th year, the Peace Internship program typically reaches over 2000 Disciples a year – making it currently one of the largest programs for Disciples youth, and one of the longest internships in existence for young adults. Former Peace Inters have gone on to be political advisers to White House staff and congressional committees, internationally recognized disaster relief specialists, esteemed teachers, respected ministers, and professors at Ivy League colleges (just to name a few).
Applications are due no later than February 19, 2010. More information – including the on line application – may be found at www.dpfweb.org
