A group of Bethany College students will be thinking about ways to show love and concern to children thousands of miles away this Valentine’s Day. The school’s Sophomore Class Council will celebrate the traditionally romantic holiday by hosting a fundraising dinner to benefit Invisible Children, an organization which helps improve the lives of war-affected children in northern Uganda.
The dinner is named "Invisible Children: Spread the Love" and will be held on Feb. 14. Proceeds will go toward educating Ugandan children and helping restore peace to their conflicted homeland. The dinner will be free to students since it is covered under the student meal plan and $8 for others. Donations to the project also will be received. "It is extremely important for all students to understand that in order to better the world, we need to start through establishing education systems for all. Invisible Children is working to do just that," said Sophomore Class Council President Tanner Coles.
