Transylvania University’s recently completed capital campaign was the most successful in the school’s history. Not only that, Transylvania administrators say the recently completed 225th Anniversary Campaign has markedly improved the living and learning environment for the entire university community. Among enhancements at the Lexington, Ky., campus are mew buildings, significant new endowment funds for scholarships and academic chairs, and state-of-the-art science laboratories.
The campaign, which began in 2004, raised $47.3 million and made possible two new buildings, the $2 million Glenn Building and the 5.5 million Thomson Residence Hall. "Virtually all members of the Transylvania community are realizing the positive effects of the generosity displayed by everyone who supported the campaign," said Mark Blankenship, acting vice president for development. "The living and learning environment of the university is measurably better than it was before the campaign began."
