Midway College is now offering veterans and their dependents a chance to take part in a new scholarship program, which can offset much of the cost of tuition. The Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program (Yellow Ribbon Program) is a provision of the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008.
Through this program, Midway College, which is associated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), will provide those who qualify a scholarship to make up to 50 percent of the difference between the maximum amount paid by the Veterans Administration and the actual tuition cost.
"In concert with the Yellow Ribbon program we will be able to help these men and women earn a bachelor ‘s degree or a MBA in an accelerated format specifically designed to accommodate their very busy life and work schedules," said Midway College President William B. Drake Jr. The college has about 1,700 students and is located in Midway, Ky. To learn more about the scholarship program, visit:
