Tens of thousands of people are expected to descend on Washington, D.C. later this month to display solidarity with Church World Service and other faith-based organizations’ efforts to reform immigration policies. The gathering will be a rally for immigration reform, entitled "March for America: Change Takes Courage and Faith" changetakesfaith.org It takes place March 21 on the National Mall.
The march will coincide with the annual gathering of people of faith at Ecumenical Advocacy Days advocacydays.org, which takes place March 19-22 and will also be focused on immigration. General Minister and President Sharon Watkins will preach at the Sunday, March 21 interdenominational morning worship. A denominational luncheon between Disciples and United Church of Christ partners also will be held.
