Do you have a passion for global mission? Are you a member of your congregation’s mission and outreach committee looking for new ideas? Are you a pastor interested in energizing your congregation through global mission involvement? Has your congregation had a relationship with a Global Partner through regular group mission trips? Do you want to learn more about what Disciples are doing in mission around the world so that you can tell the story in your congregation more effectively? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you will not want to miss an upcoming Global Ministries Missionworks training event.
The keynote speaker will be Jean-Paul Chami, who works with the Peace Building and Conflict Resolution program for the Forum for Development, Culture and Dialogue (FDCD) in Lebanon. This program oversees a 4-year project in Iraq aimed at building the capacities of the Iraqi civil society around conflict resolution and advocacy. Workshops that will be a part of the program include: "Living Church-to-Church Partnerships," "Being a Vibrant Global Mission Church" and "Responding to the Call to Serve in Mission." A Ministries and Mission Interpreters (MMI) training also will be offered.
