A symposium is being planned for next month on the "Natural Resource Wars in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and their Impact on Women and Children." The meeting will take place May 21-22 in Indianapolis. The symposium is being sponsored by Global Ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), the United Church of Christ, and the Center for Research on the Congo in Urbana-Champaign, Ill.
Georges Nzongola-Ntalaja, professor of political sciences at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, Keith Harmon Snow, a war correspondent, photographer and independent investigator from the University of California Santa Barbara, and Muadi Mukenge, regional director for sub-Saharan Africa – Global Fund for Women, will be among the featured speakers.
