Disciples were represented in a group of religious leaders who attended a meeting with Obama administration officials at the White House recently. Ken Brooker Langston, director of the Disciples Justice Action Network, and Coordinator of the Disciples Center for Public Witness, was part of a small contingent of Christian, Jewish and Islamic leaders that recently met with administration officials to talk about impending health care reform proposals.
Health care reform is currently being debated in Congress. The religious leaders met with officials from the White House Office of Health Care Reform, White House Office for Faith-Based and Community Partnerships, the Office for Public Engagement, and representatives from the Department of Health and Human Service’s Faith-Based and Community Partnerships.
