“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.” James 4:10
Congratulations are truly in order for our General Minister and President, the Rev. Terri Hord Owens and Rev. Dr. William Crowder, pastor of the Park Manor Christian Church in Chicago, IL. These fine servants of God have been inducted into the Martin Luther King Jr. College of Ministers and Laity Collegium of Scholars at Morehouse College. You have no doubt witnessed the humility and faithful commitment that these persons bring to ministry wherever they have served. Personally, I am glad to know these persons and have been privileged to serve with them through the years.
Background: “The Martin Luther King Jr. College of Ministers and Laity was established in 1985 by Dr. Lawrence Edward Carter, Sr., Dean of the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel and Dr. Hugh Gloster, to honor individual whose life and work exemplified the ethical ideals promoted by the College’s most prominent alumnus, Martin Luther king Jr. In 2010, the entire week of spiritual and religious programming was organized under the unified banner of the College of Ministers and Laity.” (Morehouse College)
This is a tremendous accomplishment. We all may be proud of our colleagues in ministry. Again, congratulations! To God be the glory for the great things that are being performed through both of you.
