The Disciples of Christ Historical Society has awarded the 2009 Faithful Servant Award to Ohio Regional Pastor and President William H. Edwards. The award is given annually to individuals who have given an extra-measure of service to causes in the whole Church. It was presented by Historical Society President Glenn Carson on Sept. 13 at Lakewood Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Cleveland, Ohio.
"We are always particularly drawn to individuals who have served in all three expressions of the Church," said Carson. "We have noted Bill’s sacrificial service in many areas of ministry and have appreciated his bold leadership in the region of Ohio. With his rich experience, he brings a deep wisdom to conversations effecting the future direction of Disciples." Edwards has served as associate general minister and vice president of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and has served churches in Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee. To learn more, see:
