The board of directors of Florida Christian Center has appointed the Rev. Brent Reynolds as Director of the organization effective August 1, 2012.
Reynolds has been actively involved in ministry and leadership roles in local churches, higher education, and faith-based nonprofit organizations. He is ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
“With the retirement of our beloved and longtime Chaplain and Director, Rev. Glenn Turner, we needed a person with the vision, education, and youthful vigor to lead us forward. Brent meets all our criteria for giving pastoral care, guiding our visioning process, and enabling us to reach our long term goals,” said Dr. Milton L. Mikesell, Chair of the Board of Directors for Florida Christian Center. “We are excited to have him as our Chaplain and Director, and look forward to what God will enable us to do through him.”
Before joining the Florida Christian Center, Rev. Reynolds served local churches in pastoral ministry in Georgia and Missouri. For over four years, he served as chaplain and instructor of religion/philosophy at Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Mo. In his work there, he directed, planned, and implemented all aspects of religious life on campus. Additionally, he taught academic courses including ethics, world religions, philosophy of religion, and biblical studies. Reynolds also brings skills and expertise in the areas of financial planning and development.
