A Mississippi Disciples couple, who were recently honored for their lifelong work with children, is being recognized once again for their committed service to the community. Chris and Sue Cherney are featured in the February 2011 edition of Metro Christian Living Magazine. In many years of service with children, the couple has touched the lives of thousands of children. The magazine article is entitled, "For the Love of Children."
Residents of Jackson, Miss., Chris Cherney is chief executive officer of Mississippi Children’s Home Services and Sue Cherney is executive director of Southern Christian Services for Children and Youth. Under his leadership, MCHS has grown from having a budget of $250,000 to $26 million. Sue Cherney was recently elected president of Disciples Care Network.
