Teresa Dulyea-Parker has been elected as the new regional minister and president for the Christian Church in Illinois and Wisconsin. Dulyea-Parker has been pastor of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Medina, Ohio since 1997. She was elected on Saturday, April 17 and will start work on Aug. 1. A team is being formed to assist Dulyea-Parker, the regional staff and membership in making the transition.
"Teresa is a consistently excellent preacher, always well prepared, clear in communication, justice seeking and peace centered," wrote one ministry colleague. "She is a great teacher and spiritually profound."
Dulyea-Parker earned a bachelor’s of science degree in economics from Western Michigan University, a M.Div. Degree from Christian Theological Seminary, and a D. Min Degree from Ecumenical Theological Seminary. She has served as a pastor at churches in Michigan, Oregon and Indiana, and is married to Disciples minister Al Dulyea-Parker.
