Reading Room Named After Disciples Evelyn And Harold Watkins

Evelyn and Harold WatkinsA newly remodeled reading room at the Disciples of Christ Historical Society in Nashville, Tenn. has been dedicated in the name of two longtime Disciples. The Evelyn and Harold Watkins Reading Room will honor the couple’s many years of dedicated service to the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). The room will be located in the Thomas W. Phillips Memorial Archives and contain a guest computer area, along with printers and a charging station.

This year marks Harold Watkins’ 60th anniversary on two fronts: his ordination and marriage to Evelyn Watkins. Harold Watkins served as president of the Board of Church Extension 1980-1995. He is author of the book Continuity, Conservation, Cutting Edge. Evelyn Watkins is a former Disciples of Christ Historical Society board member, and has faithfully supported her husband through decades of ministry.
