The Proclamation
Project
The Proclamation Project of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) exists to equip and empower Disciples preachers to proclaim the good news. By providing preachers with new resources, collegial support, and opportunities for education, the project will help Disciples preach the good news in their congregations and beyond.
The Proclamation Project is an initiative of the Office of the General Minister and President and is funded by the Lilly Endowment, Inc.

Preaching matters. Good preaching – the kind that proclaims the good news, the kind that catches our breath and calls us into the presence of the divine, the kind that declares in no uncertain terms that God loves the whole world – preaching like that has the power to change and save lives.

A monthly email for preachers
Tell us your preaching stories…

Two theme-based groups will meet for 18 months, with monthly online meetings and two opportunities for in-person gatherings. One group is focused on the art and craft of storytelling as an essential act of preaching. The other is exploring the intersection of technology and preaching as a way of reflecting on the task of proclamation in a digital age.
Two language-based preaching groups, one in Kroean and one in Spanish, have formed in collaboration with the leadership of North American Pacific Asian Disciples (NAPAD) and Obra Hispana. Each of these groups will work together over the next year as they develop preaching resources that can be used by Spanish- and Korean-speaking Disciples.
Four workshop-format groups of 6-8 preachers will meet online monthly for 12 months. At each meeting, the group will reflect on the task of preaching and provide intentional feedback on sermons presented by group members.

Our newest resource is a sermon series inspired by the Psalms. This flexible series provides six weeks of sermon prompts and worship suggestions for use any time of the year.
