Registration for Ministry 101 at Christmount due Aug. 1; classes August 16 – 18

The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in North Carolina and Christmount are co-sponsoring “Ministry 101” for Commissioned Ministers and those just starting out in the pastorate. The purpose of the event is to offer some basic training in pastoral skills. Min. 101 is geared toward those studying for the ministry, under the care of a regional commission on ministry, or who are in their first five years of pastoral work. This will be a period of practical instruction/application dealing many pastoral practices.  It is led by those who have been or are pastors, in the rich tradition of learning by doing.

Min. 101 is open to all but is Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in its theologies and focus.  While on site participants will be practicing baptism, communion, visitation, bereavement care, baby dedication, counseling, and other aspects of ministry. Bring whatever materials or tools you would use for these things (i.e. clothes, waders, robes, anointing oils, thurables, etc.).  Be sure to bring items for taking notes and referencing scriptures as well.

Check in is between 3-5 p.m. on Thursday with the first class at 6 p.m.
