It’s Official! On Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 1:00 pm with over fifty people in attendance, 12th Street Community Services, Inc. a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation formed in the District of Columbia to promote healthy and successful development of youth and families, hosted its official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 1812 12th Street NW, Washington, DC. 12th Street Community Services’ Stone-Campbell Educational Academy is designed to help students develop a strong foundation and appreciation for learning, personal responsibility and academic achievement. The Preston Taylor Career & Financial Literacy and Family Stability Institute will nurture individuals by building literacy potential and strengthening family relationships.
Cheers and Jubilation rang through the halls of the newly renovated administrative and operational space located on the third floor of Twelfth Street Christian Church. Haywood Vaughn, Moderator of Twelfth Street Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and Dr. Paul H. Saddler, Executive Director of 12th Street Community Services, Inc. and Pastor of Twelfth Street Christian Church cut the eloquently draped ribbon commencing the grand opening of this vitally needed community outreach.
During the ceremony, At-Large District of Columbia Councilmember Michael Brown contacted Dr. Saddler by telephone and shared his warmest greetings and best wishes to 12th Street Community Services, Inc. as they begin to offer services in Ward 1& 2 of the Nation’s Capitol.
