With Human Rights Day upcoming on Dec. 10, Disciples Justice Action Network (DJAN), is urging Disciples and other supporters to remember the importance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on the weekend of Dec. 10-12. DJAN also is encouraging Disciples to integrate into their worship and other activities a commitment to end torture forever – in the United States, its prisons, and throughout the world.
In the wake of World War II, which cost an estimated 50- to 70-million lives, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on Dec. 10, 1948. On Human Rights Day weekend, DJAN is asking people of faith to make use of a variety of resources for worship, study, and action made available by the National Religious Campaign Against Torture (NRCAT).
