Reconciliation Ministry is now receiving grant requests to fund projects for the 2010 calendar year. Reconciliation grants are intended to partner with general ministries and other recognized ministries to offer opportunities to become a pro-reconciling/anti-racist Church. Funds will be awarded to projects that offer educational, experiential and intentional action to address the healing of the historic fractures in the Church caused by systemic racism. These grants will fund new or existing pro-reconciliation projects.
Proposals to promote awareness, provide education and life-giving community within a ministry context toward healing and wholeness in a mission field are welcome.
The normal grant proposal period will be April 1, 2010 – July 15, 2010 for programs to be conducted in 2011. This year’s grant proposals for programs to be implemented in 2010, are being accepted until Aug. 15. The Reconciliation Commission looks forward to partnering with Disciples to advance the priority of becoming a pro-reconciling/anti-racist church as new churches open, embark on journeys of transformation, and develop new leaders for the 21st century. Grant guidelines can be obtained by contacting April Johnson, Minister of Reconciliation, at: [email protected] or at: www.reconciliationministry.org
