Reconciliation Ministry is accepting grant proposals for 2013 programs that advance the Church’s mission priority of becoming a pro-reconciling/anti-racist church. Successful programs in last season’s granting process seeded funding for opportunities for young congregational leaders to engage in cross cultural dialogue through HELM’s Disciples Leaders Institute, Northern California and Nevada Region’s infusion of their leadership program with anti-racism values, two congregation-based organizing affiliates F.A.I.T.H. and BREAD in their campaign to address economic disparities and juvenile detention rates in their communities, as well as to support the annual NAPAD Youth retreat.
The grant guidelines can be obtained on the Reconciliation Ministry website www.reconciliationministry.org. Proposals will be received between May 1 and July 15, 2012 for 2013 programs.
Funds will be awarded to projects that offer educational, experiential and intentional dialogue to create healing the sin of separation in our church/ministry contexts caused by systemic racism. The purpose of the grants is to fund new pro-reconciliation projects.
Reconciliation Ministry guides the Church’s pro-reconciliation/anti-racist priority by empowering each expression of our Church to eradicate the sin of racism in our church structures and the communities we serve. Proposals are welcome to promote awareness, provide educational and life-giving community within your ministry by creating wholeness in the family of God as we open new churches, embark on journeys of transformation and develop new leaders for the 21st century.
