General Commission on the Order of Ministry

General Commission on the Order of Ministry for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) – or "GCOM – was established in 1994 by the General Board.  GCOM–

  • Develops and recommends policies concerning the order of ministry (link to document below)
  • Considers matters related to ministerial concerns such as standing, ordination and commissioning
  • Gives counsel to and coordinates various ministerial services in general, regional and institutional ministries
  • Is responsible for working in concert with ecumenical partners which hold responsibility for ministerial concerns
