Stewardship is a key spiritual practice that impacts every area of our living faithfully in response to the generosity of God. Understanding this discipline as it relates to caring for creation, observing Sabbath, tending to the care for ourselves, sharing the good news of the gospel, and managing our resources is one pathway to individual transformation and congregational renewal. I hope that your congregation will engage in this comprehensive study. – Rev. Terri Hord Owens
The curriculum is called “Overflowing: A Stewardship Study,” and it explores the many gifts we receive in overflowing abundance, because of the generosity of God.
“Overflowing” will help groups unpack the Stewardship Study document and understand stewardship as a spiritual discipline.
The program consists of six weekly themes:
- Honoring our Past – How can understanding of our own encounters and practices with generosity shape and influence our current and future practices?
- Honoring Creation – How can we be good stewards of God’s creation in a way that supports appropriate use and care of this gift?
- Honoring our Community and Culture – How can we engage with the people and culture around us to further our witness in relevant ways?
- Honoring the Body of Christ – How can we live out our call to be the church so that we lift up the best parts of being a community of faith together?
- Honoring Ourselves – How can we take care of ourselves in a way that reminds us of the gift of life we’ve been given?
- Honoring the Future – What does all of this mean for how we live from this day forward, leaning into God’s abundant gifts to us?

“Overflowing” will be available as a group study program for adults, as well as in three pieces of graded material for youth. This curriculum can be used in Sunday School, Bible study, or retreat settings. An ecumenical camp and conference curriculum is also being developed and will be available in 2020. The curriculum project has been funded through a grant from the Oreon E. Scott Foundation.
This program will be a focal point of a Church-wide emphasis on stewardship during Eastertide, the weeks between Easter Sunday and Pentecost (April 1 and May 20, respectively, in 2018).
“Overflowing” curriculum materials will be available for free download, starting March 1, 2018 at centerforfaithandgiving.org.

It is March 1st and I do not see the “Overflowing” curriculum materials that were supposed to be available as of this date. Can someone direct me to them?
