Welcome Disciples. Build Community. Host a Gathering.
This year, the 2026 General Assembly will take place online on July 10–11, 2026, creating new opportunities for participation and connection across the church. While General Assembly will be experienced online, through the BigMarker platform, congregations across the United States and Canada are invited to become Host Congregations, opening their doors to welcome Disciples in their region to gather together in person.
Hosting a local gathering creates space for worship, fellowship, conversation, and shared participation in General Assembly. Whether members of neighboring congregations come together in a sanctuary, fellowship hall, or gathering space, Host Congregations can help strengthen relationships and make General Assembly a more connected and meaningful experience.
Become a Host Congregation
Interested in serving as a Host Congregation? We invite congregations to partner in this effort and create spaces where Disciples can gather, participate, and connect.
To become a Host Congregation:
- Reach out to your Regional Minister to share your interest.
- Complete the Host Congregation Form to be included on the list of gathering locations available to participants.
Your congregation does not need to have all the answers before signing up. Resources and support will be available along the way.

Local Gathering Dress Rehearsal
To help ensure a smooth experience, congregations are invited to participate in a Local Gathering Dress Rehearsal on June 18. This practice session will provide an opportunity to test equipment, connect with BigMarker, and confirm that technology and connections are working before General Assembly begins.
By opening your doors as a Host Congregation, you can help create spaces where relationships are strengthened and Disciples gather around a love that connects us across distance and place.
