Submitted by: Governance Committee of the General Board in consultation with the congregations and board of the affected region
The South Idaho regional board voted to close the region at the end of 2013. This item moves forward the new regional alignment of the congregations with some congregations joining the Oregon region and some joining the Central Rocky Mountain region. |
1326 | Adopted Resolution Concerning Wage Theft Submitted by: Pilgrimage Christian Church, Suitland, Maryland Congregations and other organizations of the Church are encouraged to work against unfair labor practices through civil avenues and through informed purchase of services and goods. |

Submitted by: Woodland Christian Church; Heights Christian Church; Christian Church in Ohio Anti-Racism/Pro-Reconciliation Commission The resolution calls for a racially inclusive panel review the governing documents of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and recommend to the appropriate bodies any needed changes to those documents. |
1329 | Adopted Supporting a treaty for the Prevention of Torture Submitted by: Park Avenue Christian Church, New York Calls on the assembly to urge U.S. and Canadian legislators to ratify Optional Protocol to the Convention Against Torture (OPCAT) and that the Office of General Minister and President spread the request of the National Religious Campaign Against Torture for study of the issue. |

1333 | Adopted with revisions Regarding Parental Leave Submitted by: Pacific Southwest Region; First Christian Church of Orange, CA; Foothills Christian Church, Glendale, AZ All expressions of the Church are encouraged to include parental leave for both births and adoptions as part of employment agreements for both clergy and lay persons. |

Included are updates to how the General Board is organized to accomplish the work authorized by The Design; technical corrections; and a new process clarifying Recognized Ministry Partners providing for greater accountability and enhanced relationships. In addition is a proposal to institute a moderator-elect position and eliminate the past moderator’s place on the General Board. |
