Two former General Minister and Presidents, Sharon Watkins (2005-2017) and Dick Hamm (1993-2003), will be offering a course at Christian Theological Seminary this fall on “Disciples History and Polity”. The class is available both at CTS and on-line, Monday evenings 6:00pm – 9:00pm and may be taken for three-hours of credit or audited. In this class, you will learn where the various practices and variations among the Disciples of Christ have originated. You will explore how the Disciples of Christ have profoundly impacted Christian faith in North America and globally, and how the denomination has been impacted by its ecumenical engagements and relationships. You will see how Disciples congregations, regions, and general expressions actually function day to day and where there are challenges and ongoing debates and development. You will explore the opportunities, joys, and challenges of Disciples ministry and church leadership, and the keys to self-care.
Why not learn about how we Disciples do church from two who have lived it! Contact Angela Clayton at Christian Theological Seminary at 317-931-2382, email at [email protected].

That looks very interesting. I live in Australia and would like to be able to have access to the presentation as we are a part of the Stone Campbell movement here as Churches of Christ (different from that group in USA) as we had a strong British heritage but identify with the Disciples of Christ ethos. Is it possible that you can have it in a recorded format so that I can hear it later. I have been a COC minister for some 60 years now, did a 6 month interim ministry at the Crestview Christian church, Indianapolis in 1992 in exchange with George Sublette. Always have loved our restoration story and history of our people from the beginnings with Campbell. Thanks for receiving this from me.

I know and love both of the instructors for this class. What a treat to be able to hear their combined perspectives of the Christian Church (DoC) faith journey.
